Event Description

The Birkenstein Art Movement (BAM) for 7th graders is a project inspired by civil rights leader Jean Birkenstein. The goal of BAM is to use the creative process as a tool to support individualized learning. Youth participating in this 8 class series will learn leadership and problem solving skills while expanding their art abilities by working with a roster of talented local artists.

For students in grade 7.* Interested youth must apply to the program as space is limited and students should plan on attending all eight of the Thursday evening sessions running April 3 - May 22, 2025. Transportation vouchers will be available if needed and of course, there will be snacks!

*Students in grades 6 & 8 may be admitted if space allows.

This program is made possible by a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board.
